Current Team Information
The Property Management division provide property management services to a wide and varied client base. We manage all types of properties including shopping centres, industrial, out of town retail, offices, leisure and residential assets. Our management remit covers 600 million sq ft of commercial property, with a combined rent and service charge roll in excess of £4.6 billion per annum.
The role is based within one of our London based teams focusing on portfolio management, responsible for dealing with significant multi-let mandates and client management. This is a key role supporting the team managing some of our clients’ most valuable prime assets, ensuring highest levels of service delivery and client reporting. Within the team, you will work closely with both the client’s asset managers and our team to deliver a service focused on operational excellence, customer engagement, placeshaping, sustainability, wellness and innovation.
The team is highly experienced, with a wide knowledge base, and the ability to provide an excellent training and career opportunity for the right person.
The position will be based in 33 Margaret Street which is prominently situated to the west side of Regent Street close to Oxford Circus tube station. Being in the immediate vicinity of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Soho, Margaret Street benefits from extensive restaurant, retail and leisure amenities.
About this role
This is a permanent position based in Property Management, requiring high levels of self-motivation and drive to build up detailed property knowledge and good contacts. Commitment to the team and dedication to becoming a long term property specialist within the Property Management division is essential.
Day to day work duties will include:
- Managing the transition of client/properties over to Savills property management and the setting up of new instructions and portfolios as required
- Performing the role on key PM mandates reporting into management
- Taking a very “hands on” and proactive role in property management
- Carrying out regular property inspections
- Preparing in advance for client meetings, recording minutes of those meetings and carrying out any actions arising
- Ensuring accurate client reports are prepared to the correct specifications and issued to clients in accordance with agreed timescales, subject to approval by management as required
- Reading and summarising of leases, and ensuring accurate data is maintained on the property management system by regularly checking, updating and auditing the accuracy of the data
- Taking a proactive approach in terms of asset management opportunities and the exploiting of potential initiatives
- Advance planning for critical lease event dates such as reviews, lease expiries and options; and assisting with an implementation strategy for these
- Ensuring tenant arrears are proactively managed in conjunction with the Savills central credit control team
- Dealing with the tenant and client queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Drafting, reviewing and approving service charge budgets
- Reviewing service charge cash flow and budgets regularly
- Liaising with the building managers and regional facilities managers to ensure that buildings are well maintained at all times
- Approving service charge reconciliations
- Invoice approval and ensuring correct coding of expenditure in line with the budgets
- Identifying and progressing opportunities for cross selling activities
- Identifying opportunities for providing additional services to clients
- Building strong working relationship with the existing clients
Working Week
Five full days in the office, working hours 9:00am to 5:30pm. One of these days each week will be dedicated to university led study whilst in the office.
How you’ll make an impact
Good communication and organisational skills are vital to succeed as an apprentice. You will need the ability to manage a varied workload when working with different members of the team. It is also important to feel confident when using your own initiative, and being passionate about delivering the best service possible for your team and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:

- Thirst for knowledge and self-motivated
GCSE English and Maths at Level 4 (Grade C) or above is a mandatory requirement and you may not apply if you are currently studying for or already have a degree. You will also need a minimum of 96 UCAS points.
You must be eligible to live, work and remain in the UK, within 1 hour’s commute of the office you are applying to.
A driving license is desirable, but not essential.
Training
5 year training programme (Level 6 Apprenticeship), which includes a part time undergraduate degree (4 years) and an APC training programme (2 years, enrolled at the beginning of your 3rd year at University) leading to become a Chartered Surveyor with an RICS qualification.
On the job training is provided to ensure all the required knowledge and experience is obtained throughout the apprenticeship to qualify successfully.
