Current Team Information
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an apprentice to work in our Global Cross Border Investment (GCBI) team, based in our Margaret Street office.
The GCBI team differs to other teams as they are capital focused, as opposed to being focused on a particular sector and / or geography. It is the role of the GCBI team to understand what global capital wants to do, where it wants to go and why. The team has extensive relationships with investors across the world - ranging from privates through to sovereign wealth funds. The team comprises c.20 team members, eight of whom are based in Savills Head Office in London, with the remainder located across global gateway cities including Shanghai, Dubai, Seoul and Hong Kong.
The GCBI team’s comprehensive knowledge of global capital markets and access to the most live capital in the world, gives Savills clients a competitive advantage when looking to exit their holdings. For this reason the team regularly supports the wider Savills business with pitches and sales campaigns.
The team also has extensive experience of working with buyers of real estate globally and assisting them in executing their investment strategies outside of their home market. The team understands the complexities of acquiring real estate offshore and advise their clients through all stages of the acquisition process, from establishing a strategy and identifying opportunities, through to execution. The team also has an investor services arm which provides support to those clients during the course of their ownership.
About this role
Given the diverse nature of the work that the GCBI team is involved in, the role will be highly varied and the successful candidate will be working with all members of the team, supporting them in their day to day activities.
Throughout the training programme, the apprentice will have the opportunity to attend meetings and calls with a wide range of colleagues and clients from across the world, presenting an excellent opportunity to build their internal and external network from day one. The apprentice will help members of the team prepare for these meetings, as well as supporting them to ensure that the necessary follow up is completed.
Some of the additional roles that the apprentice will be performing in the first year or so of the programme will include, collating schedules of investment opportunities for clients, and supporting the team on pitches and sales that they are involved in across the business. In addition, the role will require an ability to help manage the data in the team- including compiling deal information, tracking client requirements, maintaining ownership and underbidder schedules.
As the apprentice progresses through the programme there will be the opportunity to take on considerably more responsibility and start performing tasks expected of a graduate. This will include working with clients more closely; working with members of Savills market teams to identify investment opportunities for GCBI clients; and taking an entrepreneurial approach to processes within the team, identifying ways the team can become more effective and efficient in the way they do business.
Working Week
Five full days in the office, working hours 9:00am to 5:30pm. One of these days each week will be dedicated to university led study whilst in the office.
